Vote for The Coyote!

San Antonio Spurs mascot “The Coyote” is up for induction into the Mascot Hall of Fame and currently leads New York Mets mascot “Mr Met.” But The New York Post has thrown down the gauntlet, calling our beloved mascot a “wimp” and “mangy.” Voting ends at 12pm today, so don’t delay.

UPDATE: I just got off the phone with the Mascot Hall of Fame and voting has ended. As of yesterday, The Coyote led Mr Met by 13,000 votes, but the final tally was much closer thanks to some serious ballot-box stuffing by the New York Post. Here are the results:

The Coyote: 43,125 votes
Mr Met: 41,553 votes

My source at MHOF says that their Executive Committee will meet next week to decide whether one or both mascots are inducted. They hope to make their announcement live on ESPN.
