Another great win for the Spurs, pushing the current win streak to 5 games.

What’s really impressed me over the last 4 games, in particular, is the defense in the 4th quarters. Over the last 3, we’ve given up 17, 11, and 14 points in the 4th quarter, averaging out to 14 points/game. That’s really impressive. Add in the Dallas game (24 by Dallas in the 4th), and the average goes up slightly to 16.5 (still a paltry amount). However, in the Dallas game we scored 34 in the fourth, outscoring the Mavs by a dime.

The Spurs scoring average in the 4th quarter over the last 4 games is 22.5. So, in total, the team is +6 in winning time over the last 4 games (and all 4 games were contested in the 4th quarter).

The team may no longer play the lock-down defense of Spurs teams of yore, but when it counts, they can still turn it up and squeeze the life out of the game.
