Spurs Fans In Enemy Territory

By Daniel Strickland on May 19, 2012.

My buddy Mark (Central Catholic ’86) and I caught a flight to Los Angeles this morning to see Game 3 of the Spurs-Clippers series at Staples Center. We had breakfast at the legendary Original Pantry Cafe, a Los Angeles institution since 1923, where we met renowned Sports Illustrated photographer David Klutho. In the heart of enemy territory, we met incredibly cool Spurs fans, mostly San Antonio natives, including one who had traveled all the way from Anchorage to see the game. And then, there was the comeback. What an incredible day! Thanks for the memories, Spurs players and fellow fans.
