A Festivus Miracle

By Jeff Koch on December 23, 2012.

So, yeah.

Do you really need analysis of this game? The Spurs re-set the franchise record for 3s made (breaking a 2-week old record), shooting a ridiculous 20 for 30. On top of that, the passing and cutting was perfection, and the offense was humming. On the other end, the Spurs set a season-high with 17 steals (though credited with 5, I’m pretty sure Leonard was responsible for about 12 of them), and pretty much overwhelmed the hapless Mavs. The lead peaked somewhere in the mid-40s, which is astonishing.

It always feels good to beat the Mavs like this, even if these aren’t the Mavs of rivalries past.

The team is whole again, and has the ability to make a serious run in the coming year. For now, just be happy that we get to cheer for the best run, most consistent team in all of sports, and have a wonderful Christmas and holiday season!
